BIOGRAPHY
I was born on the 31st March 1988 in Csikszereda (rom. Miercurea Ciuc), one of the coldest towns of Transilvania, being surrounded by the Hargita mountains. Obviously I chose a winter sport as my favourite activity, even if I tried some other sports in my childhood, just like tennis or tae-kwon-do. I heard some rumours that many opponents were afraid of my view but I found skiing more interesting. I started skiing at the age of 5 on the ski-slope of Somlyo where I slalomed around wooden sticks. We have an important sport tradition in our family, both my father and brother were hockey players in the past, but, because there was no hockey team for women, I remained outside the ice rink.

I began my career in Romania. Until 2010 I was racing in the national Squad of my home-country, later I moved to Budapest. So, after I received the Hungarian citizenship and the new FIS code, I signed with the team Fullsport SE.

During my childhood I was competing mostly in Romania, but being coached by Mr. Bonis Ferenc – who was considered to be my second dad indeed- I started my international appearances in many races. Then I gathered more motivation and self-confidence, I felt a lot of pleasure. Under the given circumstances I achieved many good results, what lead to more snow and technical trainings. Because of this I spent a lot of time in Austria in the past 7 years.

I suffered an injury just before the Olympics in Torino 2006, so I was not able to participate in that event. After a successful return with my new Austrian trainer Jurgen Albel, I achieved the best ever result in the Romanian ski-history. It happened at the FIS Junior World Champs 2008 in Formigal as I was 5th in downhill. After that, another big result came at the FIS World Champs 2010 in Val d’Isere, being placed 18th twice.

Unfortunately I crashed at the first race of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver I got injured, so couldn’t start at the rest of the events.

After the Olympics I decided that I move abroad and I’m going to compete for the Hungarian national Team. My first challenge was at the 2011 World Champs in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. I managed to gather positive experiences because I was glad to finish on the 23rd position in the combined discipline. I would like to add that I was 4th at one of the intermediate time sectors.

I have been participating as a permanent racer at the World Cup series where my results get better and better. Whilst in 2013 my best result was an 18th place, in 2014 I was able to finish 18th, 12th and 5th all in downhill events. In the meantime I finished 23rd and 19th at the World Championships in Schladming and finished 7th, 15th and 16th at the Sochi Winter Olympics. After the Olympics, I finished 5th in a World Cup downhill race in Crans Montana, 3rd in St Moritz, scoring the first ever podium finis hat a World Cup event and have become a stable point scorer. I have also achieved a 13th place at the Vail-Beaver Creek World Championships.

I qualified for the World Cup Finals in the last two seasons and have been collecting points in Super G as well. My main goal is to score a podium finish at the World Championships and at the World Cup on a regular basis and of course a gold medal at the forthcoming Olympic Games in South Korea. Before the 2014 season I switched clubs and now compete as an alpine skier for the prestigious Budapest based MTK.
